How to Enlarge the Background
Now we are going to make the white background bigger by using CANVAS SIZE. What you are seeing on this CANVAS SIZE popup screen is the size of your picture, which it says, my picture is 4 by 2.64 inches. I'm going to change it to 6 inches by 6 inches, just to give me lots of room, and then click OK. See How to Use the Canvas ToolNow that I clicked OK, look at what happened to my picture! The white background called the canvas got bigger!

What
I need you to notice is the tool pallet where the arrow is pointing, the dark
blue area, that says BACKGROUND.
This means that that the BACKGROUND
is selected. You also see that the small thumbnail is white.
This
Tool Pallet is called LAYERS. Behind it is several other tools, but we're
not going to use them right now.
What you need to do at this point is CLICK ON THE BACKGROUND COPY so it will be selected.
But I can't just leave my picture like this! Continue to learn How to Frame your Picture with a Border.
