Circle of Art Abstract
This is one of my favorite all time pictures, photographed at Savin Rock Beach in CT.
It is a part of an art sculpture that sits by the beach.
The day that I took this photograph, it was crisp and cold out, and the wind was whipping.
There was no one on the beach at all.
This type of picture is called an abstract. What is an abstract picture? Abstracts occur in your imagination, and when one is walking around with a camera, an abstract image may present itself from a particular scene.

Abstracts can fall basically under two types, first "abstracting" a smaller scene from the larger scene and second, photographing a pure abstract, which is unrecognizable to the viewer. Learning to see abstracts is a process. They say that the more you look at things in a different way the better you get at spotting a good abstract. But I didn't spot this one till I got home. It was too cold to stand there and analyze it.
So this abstract is more of the first type. I "abstracted" this portion of the sculpture from the entire photograph. In other words, I cropped it. : )
I wish I could tell you who sculpted it, but I don't remember seeing a plaque. But the circles are metal and all welded together. So whoever did it, it must have took a long time. If I remember correctly the sculpture stands almost ten feet high and is about eight feet long. So this is a small portion of it.
