Mount Talcott Avon CT
Photography in New England

This picture was taken on a scenic route in Avon CT called Nod Road.

The mountain in the picture is part of the Talcott Mountain State Park.

We haven't spent much time up in this area of Connecticut, but Vlad took this photo when he was out with a buddy roaming the countryside.

The town of Avon is located northwest of Hartford on Highway 44. It also looks like the fall foliage has already peaked in Avon CT too.

Avon CT Mount Talcott

Off in the distance is the familiar Farmington River Valley landmark of Heublein Tower. It sits atop Talcott Mountain, a long, wooded ledge named after Revolutionary War hero John Talcott.

The 165-foot structure was built as a summer home in 1914 by Gilbert Heublein. The 1,000-foot high tower provides a splendid view of the Connecticut landscape
