Promoting your website
Link Exchange
Promoting your website is an important factor for increasing your sales
online. You could have the best website, but without visitors, you wouldn't
be very successful. So, how do you make people visit your website? There
are several ways, but lets talk about the most popular called Link Exchange.
It is probably the most overlooked way to promote your site, yet it's simple
to do and quite effective.
So what is Link Exchange, and how do you go about it? It's really not as complicated as you think. Maybe the product that you're selling on your website is books. What you need to do, is find other websites about books, and then ask them to exchange links with you. But, only exchange links with websites that are related to your theme. For example, if you sell books about health and medicine, websites about about healthfood would be a good idea. Even the ones about health in general, would be a good move.
In other words, think of what can be useful to your site visitor. They are obviously looking for health products, so exchanging links with travel sites would not be a good idea. You want quality traffic, and not someone who is going to click their back button as soon as they arrive at your site. The more related sites you can find, the better off you are.Not everyone will want to exchange links with you. Especially if a site you would like to trade links with, is a competitor that sells the same books as you. Try searching for book sites on a different topic.
Search Engines
As you know, without the visitors, you won't sell any of your products.
Back in the day every other business wanted to have their spot on the web.
New websites were popping up everywhere, but very few were successful. Many
people built their websites themselves with limited tools or knowledge.
Many of those websites are still around. I'm amused most by the ones that
looks like the scan of a promotional flyer from the 1990's.
