Hopefully every thing should be going rather well for you right now, and you should have your Page Title, Horizontal Line, and some Text, but now we can fancy up our webpage by inserting a picture. Everybody likes pictures!
But before you can insert a picture, you must have the picture prepared. What do I mean? Well, it needs to be a certain size, and preferably sharp and not blurry. If you do not have a picture prepared for your webpage, you can read my Photoshop tutorial on how to Fix your pictures, or just skip this page if you do not want to insert a picture. But if you do follow along.
My pictures are located inside a folder I created on my C drive, "basicdreamweaver," and inside this folder I created a folder called "images." If you have not created a folder, then click here to go back to creating a new folder.
If you have your folders created, and pictures inside of your Images folder, then you are ready to Insert a Picture. On your content page, make sure your cursor is below your paragraph. Or click below your paragraph. Click on Insert in the top Menu Bar, and click the first one in the dropdown that is called Image. A screen will come up that wants you to browse to the picture you want to insert. Like this. Select your picture, then click Select.

Ta Dah! You should have sucessfully inserted a picture. But as you can see, the default is to put it on the left of your page. What if you want the picture in the center of the page? To do that, you need to use your Properties box. Click on your image, and then look at your Properties box. You will see some format lines in the right corner. Click on the middle one to "Center your Picture." You also need to Name your picture, which is called Alternate Text.

And you can add a border to the picture by just placing the number 1 in that box. If you need a thicker border, put the number 2. See the spot where it says "Link"? If we had another page built, we could link the picture to a page, by clicking on the little folder, and browsing to the file.
