Create the Content
for your New Website

Now that you have a Title in your "heading and a horizontal line to separate the Title from the rest of your text, you can start creating text, or typing content for your website.

Dreamweaver 3 defaults to "paragraph spacing" when you hit "ENTER" on your keyboard. So, if you just want to do a single line, you have to hit "SHIFT - ENTER" on your keyboard. "SHIFT - ENTER" creates what is called a "break" or <br>

You will notice in your properties panel that you are also using a default font, (Times New Roman) You can change that if you want, just click the little arrow to the font that you like.

For instance, this is Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif,

and this is (Courier New, Courier, mono)

This is Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif

and this is Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif

So now all you have to do is type. When you are finished typing, Dreamweaver 3 also has a "spellcheck." Here's where it is located. Click on "Text" and at the bottom of the dropdown is the "Check Spelling"

Check your spelling

What if you would like to make some of your text bold? To make your text bold you need to highlight the text you want bold, and then in your properties box, click the big "B". If you can't see your properties box you can find it located in the top tool bar that says "Window." If you want your text in italics you highlight the text and click the little "i"
